Le Vie del Cinema da Cannes a Roma
The Le Vie del Cinema da Cannes a Roma film festival is at its 18th edition this year. For years, it has been proposing a series of films officially selected from the Cannes Film Festival, from the Directors’ Fortnight and from the International Critics’ Week.
The event will be launched on 10 June and will end on 16 June. The cinemas participating in this initiative will be Alcazar, Eden Film Center, Greenwich and Quattro Fontane.
For cinema enthusiasts, but not only, this is a unique opportunity to see a preview of the masterpieces that will reach the Italian cinemas later on, or that may never be shown at all.
The programme for the event will be available following the Press Release between 9 and 10 June, but some of the big names coming to the cinemas, starting next week, are already known.
Much awaited are undoubtedly the winner of the Palme d’Or at the last Cannes Film Festival -“Winter Sleep”, the winner of the award for best screenplay – “Leviathan” and Jury Prize winner -“Mommy” by Xavier Dolan. The festival will include other titles, such as “Jimmy’ s Hall” by Ken Loach, “Pride” – winner of the Queer Palm at Cannes 2014 and “Les Combattants – Love at First Fight” by Thomas Cailley.
All this will be accompanied by special events with guests of honour. In particular, as a celebration of Italian cinema, the short film entitled Voce Umana (Human Voice) will be shown, starring Sophia Loren and directed by her son, Edoardo Ponti. In addition, film director Alice Rohrwacher will present her film “Le Meraviglie” – winner of the Special Jury Prize.
Tickets will cost €7 full price and €6 reduced price. You can also get a Fidelity Card which will give you one free admission out of every 5.
After watching a show, to end your evening, we recommend a very interesting offer available at Ristorante Il Brillo Parlante. Simply give the waiter your ticket from the performance you’ve seen the same day and you will get a 15% discount.
